The Captain’s Mess

Hello my friends and readers. So the Kellivar campaign continues. We are still out here near the Alliance and Kellivar border and rumor has it we are going to Corvathia soon. I can’t imagine why, but I will chronicle those events as I always do for you my dear readers.

Truth is my drafting of ASC Galaxy: Weighed in the Balances is in a holding pattern. I have entered a mentorship with author K.A. Emmons. As we work through the chapters of the novel together, I have been touching them up. It is making for a stronger draft, but it has slowed the momentum on the drafting, but it is a welcome respite.

ASC Galaxy: Soldiers of the Corps has gone through the first round of line edits and I am sending it out tomorrow for pass number two. So our December timeline to release is still on track. I am going to be turning my attention back fully to Weighed in the Balances. Once completed, I can turn my attention fully to Welcome to the Corps: Astro Corps Academy Book One. The Academy books will not be as long as the Galaxy novels, but the characters are going to be important to the Galaxy series in the future. I can’t wait to introduce them to you.

Well, Captain Harrigan just called a senior staff meeting. I have to go. Something is about to go down. You can feel it in the air around here. No Shawn’s reading corner this month as I am still reading through K.A. Emmons The Blood Race Book One and Bethany Atazadeh’s Liar in the Hollow Court.

I value every one of you who reads my novels. You do not know how important you are to me, and I hope the novels are providing you the escape from the world you are seeking. I also hope I am telling a story worthy of your time because that is my goal as an author. Until next month, my readers, when we meet here again.

Honor to those who endure, so others will rise.

Shawn Blakeley
